With 7th-generation StarLine systems, one settings file works across the whole product line. That matters more than it sounds. StarLine is a telematics and security complex with a long list of functions, and no two customers want the same list: one wants every layer of anti-theft authorisation, the next one only wants remote start and will never open the manual. Experienced installers stop configuring from scratch. They build two or three sets — one per type of customer — save them, and start every install from a file. The car changes, the template doesn't."
